Movie Movie

The Revival is the first feature film from Skitch and Morehart Films. It has been 6 months in the making, with locations including Toronto, Vancouver, New York and Seattle. I think its really cool having a video that isn't focused just on the riders ripping around one particular city and Im excited to see the finished project. World premiere is happening on Nov.8th in Vancouver BC.
Here is the latest and final trailer. See more about the riders and up-coming premiere dates on their site! And yes this movie will be in HIGH DEFINITION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!$#$!#$#!!!!!!!!!

Rolling Thunder

Rolling Thunder

This Saturday I partook in my second cyclocross event of the season. The weather had called for a high of 50 with 70 percent chance of rain and wind gusts as high as 30 mph. Luckily the wind was the only negative part of that forecast that became a reality. Though this was only my second cyclocross race, I don't have many different race stories to compare it too, however, I had my best start EVER this Saturday. Right off the line was dodging racers like NYC cabs and managed to work my way to 8th going into the first turn and remained so after the hurdles. Though all that changed when I found myself flipping over the bars after getting forced into a bad transition at the bottom of a super steep berm. The rest of the field, that included 50 riders total, caught up and passed me as I regrouped myself on the ground. For the rest of the race another rider and I battled it out until the last lap, finishing just a wheels length behind him. They only posted the top 20 positions, so I figured by the number of people still on the course when I had finished and number of riders that finished ahead of me that I probably took about 36 or 37th.
Here are some pictures of pain/game face
Thanks Mom.

Sometimes yah just gotta let it all out.

Thanks to my mom and stepdad for coming out to visit this weekend and driving all the way to Missoula with me for the race.

Papers from the past

Finally got around to emptying out my wallet this afternoon. The biggest brick of receipts was from my bike tour I took this past summer. Im not sure why I said yes every time someone asked me if I would like my receipt. I suppose it was some sort of weird desire to keep a clue from every point along the road, something that wasn't going to be posted periodically on the blog. Just a little something to keep in my pocket, just for me.

Found my new pet.

This would probably be the most entertaining thing to come home to at the end of the day. If I could only train my big fat cat to do this. Or the SLAURUS!

YoBeat photo Challenge

Apparently the snowboard happenings site, Yobeat, has posted a picture of me doing a rail maneuver for a photo contest. The purpose of the contest is to have viewers vote on which photo they think is bending the rules of focus in a photographic medium the best. By the looks of the voting results I don't think the photo is going to win, though it was cool to see on the internet.

Thanks to Aaron for the heads up. Check out his new blog for the Havoc Krew for lots of under-age debauchery and boardin'!

'Cross

This Saturday I did my first Cyclocross race. It hurt a lot, though I was all smiles afterwards. Definitely one of the hardest disciplines of cycling in my opinion, though one of the most satisfying as well. Here are some pictures that my girlfriend Bailey kindly took.

I came in 11th in the Cat4 division. I wasn't too disappointed considering it was first attempt at it, though I would certainly like to continue racing cyclocross.

New Winter Rangnar neck gaiter

Here are some pictures of the new Rangnar Neck Shroud. I have been wearing this thing for about 3 days now, and I have no complaints. Stops wind beautifully, and never gets me all sweaty like many of the other layers do. Its the one thing I have been keeping on after I get inside and de-layer. *better pictures to come!!!

This is the first sample of the new Rangnar Neck Shroud. A usual suspect in most winter outfits, though with few changes for the better.
Specs:
-Made from Merino Wool. A natural fiber that prevents odor and bacterial growth while being extremely breathable at the same time. Cool in the summer, warm the in the winter. Truly magical stuff.
-Cut long in the front to close the V gap many hooded sweatshirts leave even when fully zipped or layered.
-Single layer of fabric to prevent unwanted bunching of material around the neck.
-Outer layer bonded with a layer of polyester for added wind blockage.
-Long enough to be pulled over nose and mouth and still drape over the neck.
-Cut from recycled garments.
-Medium stretch.
-Black only.

Very limited run of these so if you are interested in the Neck Shroud contact me: Bobtongue@aol.com
Snag one before the material is all used up!

Can't beat a good time lapse.

This one is really cool. Shot all around the greater San Francisco area. The airpot shots are the coolest. Enjoy

High five!!

This is wicked funny. Some of the people look as if they genuinely
want a high five, others... not so much.

The Tundra

So I just got home from the tundra. I was doing some video work for Polar Bears International. It was one of the best weeks of my life. The sub-arctic is a pretty cool place.
This is what we lived on for the week, it is called the tundra buggy lodge.

America

I love the place but DAMN are people stupid.

I have been trying to watch the first Jurassic Park for like 2 weeks and can't seem to find the whole thing on the internet, nor do I have/want a membership card to the local game/video/magazine/coffee shop here in town. Which is now the only place to rent movies since Blockbuster was put out of business last year by Netflix (not to be confused with Tepflix and its 4 movie inventory), thus rendering my Blockbuster card useless. ANYWAYS...
I turned to HULU in the hopes that it may aid in my search for dinos only to find a series of excerpts from not only Jurassic Park 1, but 2 and 3! Woohoo. Refusing to accept the truth I began to scroll around the page in hope of finding some hidden link that would transport me to Dinosaur Island, or for you movie buffs Sorna Island. Unfortunately all I came across were a bunch of comments from pissed off HULU users complaining about absence of the feature film. Among these comments I found a particularly amazing piece of writing that I believe will speak volumes about the direction of intelligence in our country:

this is the best movie because the raptors are so smrat
i mean they take on the t-rex and they kill him i bet
like not on the screen but if thye had a chance they
would take him out and i mean they can use doorknobs
now theyre like so smart but i guess it still is kind
of sad they eat samuel l jaxon and hes prety the most
amaczing person in the world i hear he killed all the
snakes on tbe plane but he can not kill a rapto? a
raptor is a big snake is all so i guess if they were on
a plane it would be great but on the island he gets
destroyed!!! lol. gues that is why he did not make a
movie called "big snakes that look like raptors on an
island"i just wish they had eaten the kids but not
laura dern she is something pretty toi look at.
and the goat totally died and it was awesome.
FIVE STARS!!!!!!!

At least he liked the movie!

Ed Wonka

I know this picture has been making it's rounds on various other fixed gear blogs, but its so nutty that I thought I might as well jump on the bandwagon too.
Regardless of how you feel about kids jumping and getting loose on fixed gears I think that most people would have to agree that this is pretty impressive. In my opinion this would be just as cool of a picture if it was a bmx or mtb. It is starting to become more apparent that the 700c wheel may not be as snobby and high horsed as originally thought. Proving it can get just as down an dirty as its 20'' and 26'' counter parts. Not as effectively, though non the less gnarly. Thats excluding cyclocross, of course, we already know thats had its face in the mud for a while now. Look at the TT bike in the background... Can't even stand to be in the same room with this foul creature.

a hidden jewel.

Or at least the box that contained one. Found this thing laying on top of all the other chain rings at the bike kitchen this evening. I love old bike stuff, even if its just the box.

Come on down to the bike kitchen if you don't already. Its a really mellow place full of all the bike tools that you could need, and cool people who know how to use them! Tuesday, Thursday 6pm-8pm. More info.

Mark it down on your digital calendars...

CAUSE THIS IS THE FUTURE! Redunda-cat.
Friday October 23rd 7:00pm at Bogert Park. Be there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (with 5 dollars)

Also keep your ear to the street for a Macaframa premiere coming in the near future. There probably wont be a race beforehand, more like some real fast riding. Getting pitted.

Seen at the FIX

Just look at this fucking photograph!!!

These guys should open for Nickelback

Oh yes!!!

Another one!!!

Crazy weather

But thats just what you get here in Montana. On tuesday night I rode home from the bike kitchen in shorts and a t-shirt and was still a bit sweaty when I got home. The next morning I woke up to a high of 40, sleet, and 2 inches of slush. Gross.

Though I must admit it is kinda nice to get all bundled up every so often. Just getting all wet and clammy kinda sucks. Im sure I smelled like wet dog when I showed up for class.
